Government of Yukon Wildland Fire Management Branch is continuing the clearing of the Copper Haul Road Fuelbreak. This 50.9-hectare portion of the Copper Haul Road project area is located west of the Mary Lake subdivision and south of Whitehorse, Yukon. The purpose of the project is to increase community wildfire resilience through the development of a cleared fuelbreak and provide wildland fire fighters access and a safe tactical zone in the event of a wildland fire threatening the community.
